Princess Cruises: A Triumphant Return to the Amazon River After 14 Years
Princess Cruises has announced its extensive 2028–2029 Americas season, marking a triumphant return to the Amazon River. This is the first time the Carnival-owned cruise line will sail the legendary waterway since 2014. The announcement, made on October 13, 2026, signifies a significant milestone for cruise enthusiasts who are keen to explore South America’s most iconic river.
The upcoming season boasts over 250 departures across North, Central, and South America, the Caribbean, the Pacific, and Antarctica. The highlight of the program is a brand-new 64-day “Circle South America” voyage aboard the Coral Princess. This journey combines scenic cruising on the Amazon River, a port call at Santarém, Brazil, a transit through the historic Panama Canal locks, and an expedition to Antarctica.
“The Americas offer incredible diversity, and our 2028–2029 season provides guests with an extraordinary array of ways to experience it,” stated Jim Berra, Chief Commercial Officer of Princess Cruises.
The South America and Antarctica program alone features 13 departures across 11 itineraries aboard the Majestic Princess and Coral Princess. These cruises will visit 38 destinations in 16 countries. Other highlights include Princess’s debut call at Îles de la Madeleine in Canada’s Gulf of St. Lawrence and the return of Hawaiian Island roundtrip sailings from Vancouver. The voyages range from leisurely four-day West Coast getaways to epic extended explorations. The 2028–2029 season is now on sale, with an early booking promotion offering up to $300 in instant savings and up to $300 in onboard credit, valid through February 16, 2027.
