Embraer Marks Aviation History with First Smart Window Jet Delivery to Flexjet
Brazilian aerospace titan, Embraer, has delivered the first-ever Praetor 600E to fractional-ownership pioneer, Flexjet. This event, announced on September 18, 2026, signifies a groundbreaking moment in business aviation. The delivery unveils the world’s premier certified aircraft furnished with a fully functional Smart Window™ — a revolutionary technology that redefines the in-cabin experience for private flyers.
The super-midsize Praetor 600E also boasts a completely redesigned cabin featuring all-new Embraer-designed seating, electric-assisted seat controls, and a seamless lie-flat berth capability. The flight deck offers pilots full fly-by-wire controls with active turbulence reduction, an Enhanced Vision System, and a Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System. The aircraft maintains its predecessor’s remarkable range of 4,018 nautical miles — sufficient for nonstop flights from London to New York or São Paulo to Miami.
This delivery forms part of a historic $7 billion agreement between Flexjet and Embraer, encompassing 182 firm aircraft orders with options for an additional 30. Flexjet CEO, Michael Silvestro, hailed it as a continuation of a partnership that originated in 2003. The fractional operator anticipates receiving 12 Praetor 600Es by the end of 2026, with the inaugural Praetor 500E to follow in Q4. The 600E previously earned triple certification from Brazil’s ANAC, the U.S. FAA, and EASA in April 2026.
