Cape Air Acquires Eight Cessna Grand Caravan EX Aircraft for Montana Service
US commuter airline Cape Air recently announced the acquisition of eight Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft. The new additions to the fleet are set to be deployed across its Montana network starting in 2027. This marks a significant shift for the Hyannis, Massachusetts-based carrier, as the incoming Caravans will replace the current Tecnam P2012 Traveller aircraft operating in the region.
The Cessna Grand Caravan EX, manufactured by Textron Aviation, is a high-wing, single-engine turboprop. It is renowned for its versatility, reliability, and cargo flexibility. The new aircraft for Cape Air will come equipped with a belly cargo pod. This will enable the airline to transport passengers, baggage, sporting equipment, and freight across Eastern Montana’s remote communities more efficiently.

Throughout the fleet transition, the current Tecnam P2012 aircraft will continue serving Montana travelers to ensure uninterrupted service.
