Condor’s Historic Return to Israel: Daily Frankfurt Flights Resume After 70 Years

Marking a significant milestone in aviation history, German leisure carrier Condor has resumed its daily scheduled flights between Frankfurt and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport. This marks the first regular service to Israel in 70 years. The inaugural flight, which landed on August 1, 2026, was celebrated with a grand ceremony attended by airline representatives and senior aviation officials.

The launch of this route holds immense symbolic significance. Condor’s first-ever commercial flight in March 1956 was a pilgrimage service from Frankfurt to the Holy Land. This return to Israel represents a full-circle moment in the airline’s history. The daily Airbus A320 service departs Frankfurt each afternoon and returns from Tel Aviv each morning, offering travelers a convenient schedule.

The inaugural flight was fully booked, with around 80% of passengers continuing their journey from Frankfurt to North America and East Asia. This highlights the crucial role of this route as a connecting service for Israeli travelers, who currently have a limited selection of direct international flights. Passengers can connect to more than 70 destinations across Condor’s global network.

“With the launch of the new route between Frankfurt and Tel Aviv, we are expanding our route network with an attractive destination in a region of strategic importance for Condor,” said Condor CEO Peter Gerber.

Please note that Condor’s current winter 2026–2027 timetable does not yet include Tel Aviv. Therefore, travelers planning autumn or winter travel should confirm availability in advance.
