Unitree Robotics: China’s Leading Humanoid Robot Maker Announces $9 Billion IPO

Unitree Robotics, also known as Yushu Technology and recognized as China’s leading humanoid robot manufacturer, has announced its groundbreaking initial public offering (IPO) on Shanghai’s STAR Market. The IPO is priced at 150.8 yuan ($22.34) per share, placing the Hangzhou-based company’s valuation at an impressive 61 billion yuan ($9.04 billion). This valuation significantly surpasses earlier estimates of 50 billion yuan.

The company plans to sell 40.45 million new shares, which represents 10% of its enlarged capital. This move is expected to raise approximately 6.1 billion yuan (~$904 million). The IPO subscriptions are scheduled to open on August 10, 2026. This listing will mark Unitree as the first mainland-listed humanoid robot maker in China, a historic achievement for a sector that Beijing has identified as a national strategic priority.

Chinese AI giant DeepSeek has been confirmed as a strategic investor in the IPO. This partnership is aimed at addressing a major challenge in humanoid robotics: the development of a capable robot “brain” that can comprehend unfamiliar environments and execute physical actions reliably. Unitree’s revenue saw a significant increase, quadrupling to 1.7 billion yuan in 2025. During this period, humanoid robots surpassed quadruped robots as the company’s largest revenue segment.

The IPO comes at a critical time, as the U.S. has recently added foreign-made humanoid and quadruped robots to its restricted lists. This move could potentially limit Unitree’s access to its largest export market. The company has stated that its current models have U.S. approvals, but future products may encounter obstacles.
