Anthropic Accelerates Towards Mega-IPO as Bankers Engage Investors

The AI race is heading to Wall Street. Anthropic, the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence company behind the popular Claude family of models, is moving swiftly towards what could be one of the largest technology IPOs in history. Bankers are now actively scheduling meetings with prospective investors, with a potential public debut as early as October 2026.

This investor outreach signifies a concrete step forward following Anthropic’s confidential S-1 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on June 1, 2026. The company closed an impressive $65 billion Series H funding round at a $965 billion valuation in May. This briefly surpassed rival OpenAI’s $852 billion private valuation. Investment bankers now reportedly consider a debut valuation above $1 trillion the base case.

Leading the IPO effort are three of Wall Street’s most powerful institutions: Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan Chase. The listing would follow the massive SpaceX IPO in June 2026, further opening public markets to AI-driven companies. Anthropic appears poised to beat rival OpenAI to the public markets, potentially gaining a first-mover advantage with investors eager for AI exposure.

Founded in 2021, Anthropic has found significant enterprise success, particularly through its Claude Code AI coding assistant. The company reportedly targets over $50 billion in annualized revenue by the end of July 2026. This trajectory would make it one of the fastest-scaling enterprise software companies on record.
