McFarlane Alaska Acquires T3 Tailwheel Line: A Major Boost for Backcountry Pilots
McFarlane Alaska, a rapidly expanding aviation brand with a focus on backcountry operations under the umbrella of parent company Victor Sierra, has officially announced the acquisition of the T3 Tailwheel product line. This move has been met with enthusiasm by the bush flying and taildragger communities.
The T3 Tailwheel Suspension System is highly regarded among backcountry pilots for its ability to enhance shock absorption, reduce landing gear wear, and improve aircraft handling on rough and unimproved terrain. The product line currently supports a wide range of popular aircraft, including the Piper PA-18 Super Cub, Cessna 170, Maule, Aviat Husky, Kitfox, Glasair, and RANS series taildraggers.
Formed in April 2026 through the consolidation of Alaskan Bushwheels and Airframes Alaska, McFarlane Alaska had already been manufacturing and supporting T3 products through a close working partnership for years. The acquisition now formalizes full ownership and signals major investment plans, including expanded manufacturing capability, increased inventory support, new product development, and broader market reach.
“These are products that backcountry pilots depend on to fly safely in some of the most demanding environments in the world,” said Sean McLaughlin, CEO of McFarlane Alaska. All T3 products are available immediately through McFarlane Alaska.
