Moore County Airport Embarks on Expansion with Two New Corporate Hangars

Moore County Airport (KSOP), located in North Carolina, celebrated a significant milestone in its expansion strategy on June 15, 2026. The airport officially broke ground on two new corporate aircraft hangars, a move aimed at bolstering business aviation and stimulating regional economic growth.

The groundbreaking ceremony was a collaborative event, bringing together elected officials from the state and local level, airport leaders, and business representatives to commemorate the start of construction.

Upon completion, projected for mid-2027, the new facilities will be home to Titan Echelon and AVA Technologies. These two defense-focused companies provide a range of services and technologies, from aviation services to national security operations.

  • Titan Echelon offers aviation services, logistics, training, and operational support for government and commercial clients worldwide.
  • AVA Technologies, a veteran-owned defense technology company, develops solutions for military and homeland security missions.

Both companies have cited Moore County’s strategic location, robust airport infrastructure, and strong military community as key factors in their decision to set up operations there.

Adam Kiker, Chairman of the Airport Authority, highlighted that this project is part of a larger vision. This includes additional hangar development, construction of a new Fixed Base Operator (FBO) terminal, and ongoing efforts to restore commercial air service to the region. The hangars were designed by SBS Sandhills Building Systems.
