McFarlane Alaska Takes Over T3 Tailwheel Line, Enhancing Backcountry Aviation

Backcountry aviation enthusiasts now have a reason to celebrate. McFarlane Alaska has officially taken over the renowned T3 Tailwheel product line. This acquisition brings the trusted brand fully under its portfolio, ensuring a reliable supply chain for pilots navigating some of the world’s most challenging terrains.

The announcement of the acquisition came in mid-June 2026. This move builds on a longstanding manufacturing partnership between the two companies. The aim is to guarantee uninterrupted parts availability and customer support. McFarlane Alaska, which emerged in April 2026 from the consolidation of Alaskan Bushwheels and Airframes Alaska, states that the deal will allow it to expand manufacturing capability, grow inventory support, and spur new product development for the rapidly growing backcountry market.

The T3 Tailwheel Suspension System is highly esteemed among taildragger pilots. It is known for its ability to enhance shock absorption, reduce wear, and improve handling on rough, unimproved surfaces. The system currently supports a wide range of popular aircraft, including the Piper PA-18 Super Cub, Cessna 170, Maule, Aviat Husky, Kitfox, Glasair, and RANS designs.

Sean McLaughlin, CEO of McFarlane Alaska, assures that the company is committed to keeping the products in the right hands. He guarantees that pilots and mechanics can rely on them for years to come. All T3 products are now available through McFarlane Alaska.
