Introducing Microsoft 365 E7 Suite and Agent 365 AI Governance Platform
Microsoft has unveiled its latest enterprise-tier license, Microsoft 365 E7 and Agent 365. This marks the first new enterprise license since the launch of E5 in 2015. The “Frontier Suite” is a strategic move by Microsoft to aid organizations in scaling AI agents across their operations, ensuring enterprise-grade security and governance.
The Microsoft 365 E7 suite combines Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Agent 365, and Microsoft Entra Suite into a single, integrated package. Priced at $99 per user per month, it offers a cost-effective solution compared to the $117 expense of purchasing these components separately. This suite is tailored for organizations ready to transition from AI experimentation to production-scale deployment.
At the core of E7 is Agent 365, a novel control plane for discovering, governing, and securing AI agents across enterprise environments. Agent 365 offers visibility and management for agents developed on Microsoft platforms, as well as third-party services including AWS Bedrock and Google Cloud. It addresses the issue of “agent sprawl” as organizations deploy autonomous AI systems that can act on behalf of employees.
As “Customer Zero” for Agent 365, Microsoft has already registered visibility into more than 500,000 agents across the company, generating over 65,000 responses daily for employees in areas such as research, coding, sales intelligence, and HR self-service. For organizations not ready for the full E7 suite, Agent 365 is also available as a standalone license at $15 per user per month.
