This information, based on accommodation search data released today, April 30, 2026, indicates a significant increase in domestic searches for May check-ins compared to the previous year, highlighting a growing interest in accessible seaside retreats.
Goa, India, tops the list of trending destinations with a 13% increase in interest compared to last year. This destination continues to captivate travelers with its diverse coastline, Portuguese-influenced architecture, robust seafood culture, and markets such as the Anjuna Flea Market. Following closely is Pattaya, Thailand, with an 11% increase in searches. A short trip from Bangkok, Pattaya boasts vibrant beachfronts, while nearby islands like Koh Larn offer crystal clear waters and tranquil settings for day trips.
Andrew Smith, Senior Vice President of Supply at Agoda, emphasized that these coastal destinations provide a variety of experiences within a compact area. Beyond the beaches, travelers are attracted to the local food scenes, markets, cultural landmarks, and nearby natural attractions that can be explored without extensive planning.
