Bell Textron Establishes Ukraine Subsidiary for Enhanced Helicopter Operations
Bell Textron Inc., a global leader in aircraft manufacturing, has recently unveiled its new subsidiary, Bell Textron Ukraine. This significant move marks a new chapter in the company’s long-term industrial cooperation in Ukraine, a country currently navigating through war.
The announcement, made on April 17, 2026, positions the new subsidiary as the central hub for Bell’s operations in Ukraine. The primary focus will be on helicopter assembly, maintenance, and repair activities. Despite the permanent office location still being under consideration, this initiative underscores Bell’s commitment to forging a practical partnership with Ukraine’s defense and industrial base.
“This is a meaningful step toward building a practical, mutually beneficial cooperation with the Ukraine defense and industrial base,” said Jeffrey Schloesser, senior vice president of Strategic Pursuits at Bell. “Bell is committed to establishing a presence in Ukraine to promote collaboration and long-term growth.”
This development follows the Letters of Intent signed in October 2025 between Bell Textron and Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy, Ecology, and Agriculture to explore potential areas of cooperation. Bell sees a strong potential for its H-1 platforms, including the Bell AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter and Bell UH-1Y Venom utility helicopter, to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities while laying the groundwork for a lasting industrial partnership.
Bell’s entry into Ukraine coincides with the peak of the company’s financial growth. In 2025, the company saw its revenue surge by 20 percent to $4.28 billion, with military programs contributing more than $2.6 billion. Currently, the company contributes nearly a third of the total business of parent corporation Textron, boasting an order portfolio of approximately $7.8 billion.
