Coca-Cola Announces Henrique Braun as Future CEO in Significant Leadership Transition

The Coca-Cola Company made a significant announcement on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Henrique Braun is set to become its next Chief Executive Officer, effective from March 31, 2026. Currently serving as the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Braun will take over from James Quincey, who will become Executive Chairman after a nine-year tenure as CEO.

At 57, Braun brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with nearly three decades at Coca-Cola. He joined the company in 1996 and has since held leadership roles in various international markets. These include:

  • Brazil
  • Latin America
  • Greater China
  • South Korea

Most recently, Braun served as President of International Development, overseeing seven of the company’s nine operating units before his promotion to COO in January 2025.

Under Quincey’s leadership, Coca-Cola evolved into a ‘total beverage company’, adding over 10 billion-dollar brands to its portfolio. The company’s annual net revenues saw a significant increase, growing from $31.9 billion in 2018 to $47.1 billion in 2024. Similarly, net income rose from $6.43 billion to $10.63 billion during the same period.

This leadership transition reaffirms Coca-Cola’s commitment to its Atlanta headquarters, where the company was founded in 1886. Braun’s focus will be on:

  • Driving global growth opportunities
  • Deepening consumer connections
  • Leveraging technology to enhance performance across the company’s worldwide operations
