Gulfstream G800 Achieves Eighth Speed Record on Route to Dubai
Gulfstream Aerospace has proudly announced a new accomplishment for its ultralong-range G800 business jet. The aircraft has set its eighth city-pair speed record, completing a flight from Phuket, Thailand, to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in a swift 5 hours and 38 minutes. This record-setting flight was achieved while en route to the Dubai Airshow 2025, showcasing the aircraft’s exceptional performance capabilities just months after its service entry in August.
The G800 stands as the longest-range aircraft in Gulfstream’s fleet. It boasts the ability to travel 8,200 nautical miles at its long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85 and 7,000 nautical miles at its high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90. With this latest achievement, Gulfstream’s total city-pair speed records across its entire fleet have now surpassed an impressive 760.
“Setting eight speed records this quickly following its August entry into service is a powerful testament to the tremendous capabilities of this aircraft,” stated Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. The aircraft is equipped with advanced amenities that include a low cabin altitude of 2,840 feet when flying at 41,000 feet, 100% fresh air delivery, and 16 Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows. Powering both the G700 and G800 are the Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, complemented by Gulfstream’s advanced aerodynamic wing design.
