Record-Breaking 2024 for General Aviation Deliveries with $31.2B
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has released its impressive 2024 figures at its annual State of the Industry conference. The numbers show aircraft deliveries valued at a whopping $31.2 billion, marking a 13.3% increase from 2023.
For the first time in a decade, GA manufacturers exceeded $30 billion in annual billings. Moreover, they shipped more than 4,000 units for the second consecutive year. “This strong performance provides great momentum into 2025,” said GAMA President and CEO Pete Bunce.
However, he emphasized that for continued growth, it is essential that policymakers and regulators recognize the need to work with the industry. Key policy issues include taxes, trade, regulations, and supply chain.
- Piston airplanes led the growth with 1,772 units, up 4.2%.
- Business jets increased by 4.7% to 764 units.
- Helicopter deliveries totaled $4.5 billion, up approximately 7.6% from 2023.
The robust numbers reflect general aviation’s role in advancing safer, more sustainable flying technology. It also highlights the industry’s contribution to providing economic connectivity to communities lacking commercial airline service.
