U.S. Airlines Showcase Robust Performance Amidst November 2024 Challenges
The U.S. Department of Transportation recently unveiled its November 2024 Air Travel Consumer Report. The data reveals a resilient airline industry, maintaining strong operations in the face of seasonal challenges.
In November 2024, airlines operated a total of 611,793 flights. This figure indicates a 2.14% increase from the same period in the previous year. However, flight cancellations saw a slight uptick, rising to 0.5% compared to 0.1% in November 2023.
On-time arrival rates were reported at 84.9%, a minor decrease from the 86.3% recorded in November 2023. Despite this, the year-to-date on-time rate remains steady at 78.1%.
November also saw international visitors contributing a record-breaking $21.8 billion to U.S. travel and tourism activities. This marks a 9% increase compared to November 2023.
