Parents across the United States are being urged to check their bathroom cabinets after the FDA issued a major toothpaste recall affecting more than 4.3 million tubes sold nationwide. The recall, initiated by Indian manufacturer Pritam International Private Limited and distributed by Ashtel Studios Inc. of Ontario, California, covers 17 varieties of toothpaste across three brand families: Brush Buddies, Evo, and ARU.

Among the recalled products are fan-favorite children’s toothpastes featuring licensed characters from Barbie, Hot Wheels, My Little Pony, and Crayola. Specifically, Brush Buddies Barbie Bubble Gum Flavor (409,800 tubes) and Hot Wheels Strawberry Flavor (411,600 tubes) are among the largest individual lots affected. More than 960,000 tubes of Crayola Silly Scents varieties — in bubble gum, watermelon, and strawberry — are also included.

The reason cited on the FDA enforcement report is deviations from Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) requirements. The recall has been classified as Class II, meaning there is a remote probability that use of the products will cause serious adverse health consequences, though temporary effects are possible.

The recall was first initiated on September 10, 2026, and was elevated to Class II status on October 22, 2026. Consumers who have purchased any of the affected products are advised to stop using them and check the FDA’s enforcement report for specific lot numbers and expiration dates.
