McFarlane Aviation Broadens Backcountry Capabilities with Airglas Acquisition

BALDWIN CITY, Kansas — October 4, 2026 — McFarlane Aviation, a leading general aviation parts division of Kansas-based Victor Sierra, has announced the acquisition of Airglas, Inc. This Anchorage, Alaska-based company specializes in the manufacture of fiberglass skis, heavy-duty nose forks, and cargo and fuel pods for backcountry and military aircraft. The deal, announced on September 30, extends McFarlane’s already comprehensive range of bush aviation products and promises to increase global access to Airglas equipment for off-airport pilots and mechanics.

Airglas will maintain its full product line production in Anchorage with its existing team. This strategic decision aims to uphold the brand’s well-established Alaskan reputation. Airglas President Shane Langland stated, “We have spent decades building equipment for pilots who land where there is no runway. Joining McFarlane allows our team to continue this work in Alaska, while McFarlane’s distribution network puts our products within reach of pilots and mechanics worldwide.”

McFarlane currently provides support for popular bush airframes including Cessna, Piper, Maule, and Husky with products such as Alaskan Bushwheels and tailwheel suspension systems. The inclusion of Airglas skis, nose forks, and cargo pods is anticipated to simplify sourcing specialized off-airport gear for pilots who frequently transition from paved runways to snow, gravel, and tundra. Scott Still, President and CEO of Victor Sierra, expressed that the acquisition “strengthens our commitment to the Alaska market, expands our general aviation and military business, and advances our mission to keep customers flying.”

Airglas products are now available through McFarlane Alaska, with wider availability through McFarlane Aviation planned in the near future.
