FAA Endorses Mountain High’s EDS-305X Oxygen System Under NORSEE
Pilots soaring at lofty altitudes now have a new, FAA-endorsed safety tool at their fingertips. Mountain High Equipment & Supply, stationed in Redmond, Oregon, has been granted official FAA NORSEE (Non-Required Safety Enhancing Equipment) certification for its EDS-305X Series O2D2 supplemental breathing oxygen systems. This marks a significant achievement for the company and a leap forward for general aviation safety.
The EDS-305X Series propels Mountain High’s well-regarded electronic oxygen-delivery technology into a semi-integrated, mounted setup for eligible certificated aircraft. It is available in both 2-place and 4-place system configurations. The FAA endorsement was given under 14 CFR 21.8(d) and FAA Policy PS-AIR-21.8-1602, which is specifically designed to promote voluntary safety enhancements across the general aviation fleet.
This system is sanctioned for supplemental use up to 12,500 feet and is suitable for installation on aircraft certified under 14 CFR Part 23. This makes it compatible with a wide variety of popular single- and multi-engine aircraft. Mountain High’s patented Pulse Demand™ Electronic Delivery System guarantees efficient and intelligent oxygen delivery to pilots and passengers.
It’s crucial to note that while NORSEE approval is a significant regulatory step, it does not automatically grant approval for installation on a specific aircraft. Owners must ensure the installation qualifies as a minor alteration under applicable regulations.
