FAA NORSEE Approval Granted to Mountain High for EDS-305X Oxygen System
Mountain High Equipment & Supply, a leading manufacturer of aviation oxygen equipment based in Oregon, has achieved a significant milestone. The company has been granted FAA NORSEE (Non-Required Safety Enhancing Equipment) approval for its latest product, the EDS-305X Series O2D2 supplemental breathing oxygen systems. This approval broadens the range of electronic oxygen delivery options available to general aviation pilots flying certificated aircraft.
The EDS-305X Series incorporates Mountain High’s trusted Pulse Demand™ electronic oxygen-delivery technology into a semi-built-in, mounted configuration. The systems are available in both 2-place and 4-place setup options. The FAA authorization, issued under 14 CFR 21.8(d) and FAA Policy PS-AIR-21.8-1602, verifies that the systems are manufactured under a quality system that meets NORSEE requirements.
Note: This approval is intended for supplemental use only. It is approved for use up to 12,500 feet and is not intended to replace any existing required system. Installation of the system requires the expertise of an A&P mechanic and is considered a minor alteration on aircraft certified under 14 CFR Part 23.
For pilots operating at higher altitudes or in unpressurized aircraft, this new approval provides an added layer of regulatory assurance. The NORSEE framework is specifically designed to promote voluntary, safety-enhancing upgrades in general aviation without necessitating a full STC process.
