Qatar Airways Announces Extensive Global Expansion for Winter 2026-27
Qatar Airways has revealed an ambitious seasonal schedule, announcing a significant expansion of its global network to over 170 destinations for the winter season of 2026–2027. The Doha-based airline is set to operate approximately 1,800 weekly flights by December 2026, spanning across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East via its hub at Hamad International Airport.
Key highlights of the expansion include the resumption of daily flights to Zanzibar, Tanzania, from October 25, 2026, and an increase in services to Johannesburg, South Africa, from 14 to 18 weekly flights starting December 2. European travelers will also benefit from increased frequencies on the London Heathrow route, jumping from 49 to 56 weekly flights. Additionally, Frankfurt services will rise from 18 to 21 weekly. Flights to Phuket, Thailand, will surge from 14 to 21 weekly, and services to Malé in the Maldives will increase from 12 to 21 weekly.
The winter expansion also brings exciting advancements in in-flight connectivity, with up to 340 Starlink-enabled flights expected to operate daily. Over 150 widebody aircraft will be equipped with the high-speed internet service, making long-haul travel more connected than ever before.
Bookings are now open through the Qatar Airways’ website and mobile app. Privilege Club members will have the opportunity to earn and redeem Avios on qualifying flights.
