General Aviation Billings Skyrocket to $14.3B in H1 2026, Reports GAMA
The general aviation industry is soaring in 2026, as indicated by a recent report from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). The report confirms robust growth across nearly every segment in the first half of the year.
As per GAMA’s Q2 2026 Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report, manufacturers shipped 1,458 airplanes between January and June, marking a 1.7% increase from 1,433 in the same period of 2025. Furthermore, overall airplane billings witnessed a significant surge of 15.5% to $14.3 billion.
- Business jet deliveries spearheaded this growth with an 8.2% increase to 383 aircraft.
- Turboprop shipments also saw a rise, with a 7.8% increase to 289 units.
However, the piston airplanes segment experienced a slight dip, with a decrease of 3.1% for the period.
On the rotorcraft front, civil helicopter deliveries climbed 4% to 419 aircraft, with billings rising 7.2% to nearly $2.2 billion.
- Cirrus Aircraft led the GA airplane shipment charts with 405 units delivered, including 196 turbocharged SR22s.
- Textron Aviation followed closely with 333 shipments.
- Airbus Helicopters dominated the rotorcraft segment.
These figures illustrate a resilient and growing industry, despite some near-term challenges faced by piston manufacturers.
