Southwest and LOT Polish Airlines Introduce Single-Ticket Itineraries for Europe
American travelers now have a significant new option for flying to Central and Eastern Europe. Southwest Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines have officially launched an interline partnership on September 1, 2026. This partnership enables passengers to book a seamless, single-ticket itinerary that combines both carriers’ networks for the first time.
The partnership provides connections for travelers through three shared U.S. gateway airports: Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), and San Francisco (SFO). At these airports, passengers can effortlessly transfer between Southwest’s extensive domestic flights and LOT’s long-haul services to Warsaw and beyond. LOT operates its transatlantic routes using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, serving destinations across Europe, as well as India, Japan, and South Korea from its global hub at Warsaw Chopin Airport.
With this partnership, LOT Polish Airlines becomes Southwest’s 11th international airline partner. This follows previous deals with carriers including Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, All Nippon Airways, and TAP Air Portugal. Bookings for the combined itineraries are available through LOT Polish Airlines, travel agents, and third-party travel websites. The partnership also facilitates checked-through baggage and coordinated ticketing across both carriers, simplifying the complexity of multi-airline travel.
This latest interline agreement highlights Southwest’s ongoing strategy to expand global connectivity without operating its own long-haul flights. It offers U.S. travelers easier access to European destinations at competitive prices.
