United Airlines Introduces Nonstop Service from NYC to Seoul on Boeing 787-9
Newark, NJ — September 3, 2026 — East Coast frequent flyers have a new reason to rejoice: United Airlines has officially launched its daily nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Seoul’s Incheon International Airport (ICN). This makes United the only U.S. carrier offering a nonstop flight from the New York area directly to South Korea.
The inaugural flight took off on September 4, 2026. The route is serviced by a 257-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with four cabin classes: 48 seats in Polaris business class, 21 Premium Plus seats, 39 Economy Plus seats, and 149 standard economy seats. The flight, which lasts approximately 15 hours and 45 minutes, departs Newark at 10:35 AM and arrives in Seoul the following day at 3:20 PM local time.
This new route is a significant part of United’s largest international expansion in its history. It capitalizes on the increasing popularity of Seoul as a travel destination. Booking data shows that 179,000 round-trip passengers flew between EWR and Incheon in the 12 months leading up to June 2026. Seoul, famous for its mix of ancient palaces, world-class cuisine, and cutting-edge fashion and art, continues to rise on travelers’ wish lists worldwide.
