Procter & Gamble Acquires Wellness Powerhouse Thorne in a $3.8B Landmark Deal

In a significant development in the health and wellness industry this year, Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) has declared a definitive agreement to acquire Thorne, a top-tier science-backed supplement brand, for an astounding $3.8 billion. The announcement, made on August 4, 2026, will result in P&G buying Thorne from the private equity firm L Catterton’s Flagship Fund.

Established in 1984 with its headquarters in Summerville, South Carolina, Thorne has built an impressive reputation over four decades for its superior, clinically backed dietary supplements. The company is relied upon by tens of thousands of healthcare professionals, over 100 professional sports teams, multiple U.S. National Teams, and more than seven million everyday consumers. In 2025, its annual revenue exceeded $500 million.

Thorne’s product range comprises nutritional supplements and state-of-the-art digital health tools, including Taia™ — its AI-powered wellness advisor trained on over 40 years of clinical research and practitioner expertise. Under P&G, Thorne will become part of a healthcare division that already houses iconic brands like Metamucil, Align Probiotic, New Chapter, Oral-B, and Vicks.

“Consumer interest in self-care, prevention, wellness, and personalized health continues to grow,” stated Paul Gama, CEO of P&G Health Care. The deal is anticipated to close later in the calendar year 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
