FlightSense Enhances AI Platform to Streamline Flight School Operations

Flight training is undergoing a significant technological transformation. FlightSense, the AI-powered flight training platform utilized by numerous pilots and schools, is broadening its capabilities. It’s extending beyond training records to support comprehensive flight school operations. This includes scheduling, dispatch, maintenance tracking, and invoicing, all within a single unified system.

The platform, developed by the Lehi, Utah-based company, has successfully passed a live Part 141 FSDO inspection. An FAA inspector reviewed the training records built directly into the system. The platform now encompasses the entire operational loop of a flight school. Instructors can utilize AI-powered voice debriefs that auto-generate detailed, compliance-ready training records. Dispatchers have the ability to manage aircraft airworthiness and release, with open maintenance squawks automatically blocking dispatch. Each completed lesson also auto-generates a comprehensive invoice.

At the core of the platform is Amelia, FlightSense’s AI assistant. Amelia is trained on FAA regulations and provides citation-backed answers, personalized student performance analysis, and alerts instructors to students at risk prior to checkrides. The platform is currently serving over 600 pilots and flight schools.

With the ongoing pilot shortage exerting pressure on the aviation industry, tools like FlightSense represent the type of digital infrastructure reform that experts deem critical. “Flight training operates on records, yet the industry has been slow to adopt modern tools,” stated CEO and Founder Taylor Horsager.
