Vantage Data Centers: A Potential Record-Breaking $100B IPO Driven by AI Demand

In a potential historic move, Vantage Data Centers is reportedly considering a public market listing with a staggering valuation of approximately $100 billion. This news, as reported by Reuters on August 13, 2026, suggests that the hyperscale data center developer and operator could raise around $10 billion through the offering, which might be launched as early as next year.

The company, backed by private equity firm Silver Lake and infrastructure investor DigitalBridge Group, has held preliminary discussions about possible exit strategies. These discussions included informal meetings with financial advisers. However, sources have warned that no formal process has been initiated yet. A partial stake sale is also being considered as an alternative.

The driving force behind the potential listing is the surge in AI-driven demand for data center capacity, which has significantly elevated valuations across the sector.

Vantage has established strong connections within the AI ecosystem. The company recently collaborated with Oracle and OpenAI on a data center campus in Wisconsin. This campus is linked to Stargate—a joint venture between SoftBank, OpenAI, and Oracle targeting up to $500 billion in AI infrastructure buildout.

The trend towards IPOs is not isolated to Vantage. Rival operator Switch has also engaged banks for a potential $10 billion IPO, which would value it at $80 billion. Meanwhile, CyrusOne is considering a public listing as early as 2027.
