Major Price Hike for American Airlines Admirals Club Membership
Frequent flyers, brace yourselves for a significant change. American Airlines is set to overhaul its Admirals Club lounge membership pricing. Starting August 23, 2026, costs will skyrocket by as much as 75%. The standard annual membership, which offers access to nearly 50 Admirals Club locations, over 60 partner lounges worldwide, and guest privileges for up to two people, will see a price increase from a maximum of $850 to a staggering $1,400 for general AAdvantage members.
In an unexpected twist, the airline is also introducing a new, lower-cost “single membership” tier priced at $750 per year. This price is flat, regardless of elite status. However, this budget-friendly option comes with significant restrictions: it includes no guest access and no entry to partner lounges. Only the member will have access to American’s own club locations.
Adding insult to injury for loyal members, American is also eliminating household memberships and scrapping the existing $50 renewal discount. The last time American raised Admirals Club fees was in November 2019. These changes coincide with a separate $100 annual fee increase on the Citi/AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard, which will rise from $595 to $695. Despite the increase, this card still includes a full standard Admirals Club membership, making it an increasingly attractive alternative to a standalone lounge subscription.
