Historic Debut of RAF Red Arrows Closes EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026
As the curtain falls on the final day of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026, the week’s grand finale has been a spectacle to behold. The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, globally recognized as the Red Arrows, made their much-anticipated, inaugural appearance at Oshkosh. They showcased their skills in the afternoon air shows on July 24, 25, and 26 at the Wittman Regional Airport in Wisconsin.
The Red Arrows, flying their emblematic British-built Hawk T1 fast-jets in tight nine-ship formations, captivated the vast crowds. This event is being hailed as a historic moment for aviation events on American soil. The team, which has flown nearly 5,000 displays in 57 countries since its formation in 1965, is currently on an extended U.S. tour in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
“The Red Arrows have long been on the list of teams that aviation enthusiasts have wanted to see at Oshkosh,” stated Rick Larsen, EAA’s vice president of communities and member programs.
Wing Commander Sasha Nash, Officer Commanding of the RAF Aerobatic Team, shared the team’s excitement for the tour. He noted they were honored to bring their signature display to the biggest airshows in America. The team also made several public appearances on the AirVenture grounds throughout the week. The 73rd edition of AirVenture, which ran from July 20–26, attracted over 600,000 attendees from around the globe.
