GCC’s ‘Grand Tours Visa’ 2026 Launch: Explore Six Countries with One Visa

International travelers with a keen interest in the Arabian Gulf are on the brink of a regional mobility revolution. The GCC Unified Tourist Visa — also known as the GCC Grand Tours Visa — is set to launch in 2026. This visa will grant visitors the freedom to traverse all six Gulf Cooperation Council member states: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, with just a single visa application.

Inspired by Europe’s Schengen area, this initiative is being hailed as a game-changer for Gulf tourism. Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, confirmed the launch milestone, describing it as “a major achievement after years of collaboration among GCC member states.”

The visa aims to attract long-haul visitors — especially from China, India, and the Asia-Pacific region — who previously had to apply for separate visas for each country. Officials predict that the program could potentially draw millions of additional visitors annually and significantly extend average visitor stays across the region.

Alongside the visa launch, a broader digital transformation is underway. This includes AI-powered airports, air taxi vertiports, smart hotel technologies, and a multi-billion-dollar Gulf Railway project. Spanning approximately 2,177 kilometers, the railway will link all six nations, with completion slated for 2030.

Travelers will have the option to apply online and choose between single-country access or full multi-country freedom. This historic leap forward for Middle East tourism aligns with the GCC’s Vision 2030 economic diversification goals.
