A team of researchers at the University of Nottingham has made a groundbreaking discovery. They have developed a revolutionary fluoride-free gel that can rebuild damaged tooth enamel—a feat that the human body is incapable of once enamel is lost. The protein-based gel operates by replicating the biological proteins that naturally guide enamel formation during infancy. It fills microscopic cracks in teeth and draws calcium and phosphate directly from a patient’s saliva.
