AutoCamp Secures $1.2M in Record Time Amidst Luxury Camping Surge
Luxury outdoor hospitality brand AutoCamp has successfully capitalized on the rising demand for nature-based travel this summer. The brand recently announced that it raised $1.2 million via the DealMaker crowdfunding platform. This impressive feat was achieved in under 30 days, with contributions from 353 investors, many of whom are former guests. DealMaker has recognized this as one of the fastest raises in its history.
The San Francisco-based company, known for its Airstream suites, polished cabins, fire pits, and design-forward amenities, operates at nine U.S. locations. These range from Joshua Tree, California, to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. AutoCamp reported a 20% increase in room revenue compared to last year. As the Fourth of July weekend approached, AutoCamp boasted a 90% occupancy rate across its portfolio, with average daily room rates up by 15%.
The capital raise reflects a growing trend among hospitality brands, who are increasingly turning to their loyal customer bases for funding. According to Chief Commercial Officer Bryan Terzi, the appeal lies in offering a high-end camping experience that requires no gear and is just a short drive from home. Investors in the current round receive shares along with booking platform gift cards as perks.
AutoCamp’s success is indicative of broader market trends. Airbnb reported a 35% surge in searches for stays near national parks in 2026. Similarly, Hilton’s 2026 Trends Report found that 37% of travelers now prioritize time in nature when choosing their travel destinations. AutoCamp’s partnership with Hilton has proven beneficial, with direct bookings on Hilton’s platform jumping 30%. Nearly half of these bookings were made using Hilton Honors points.
