Airbnb Launches Massive Campaign, Offers Over 1,300 Free FIFA World Cup 2026 Tickets
June 11, 2026 — In an unprecedented event-driven campaign, Airbnb has launched a tournament-wide initiative. This initiative offers free FIFA World Cup 2026™ match tickets bundled with select stays across all 16 host cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, coinciding with the tournament’s kickoff.
Starting June 10, select Airbnb homes in host cities began including free match tickets as part of guest reservations. These tickets range from the Group Stage all the way through to the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19. In total, more than 1,300 free tickets will be distributed to hosts and guests throughout the tournament, with participating stays averaging $385 per night. Listings that include tickets are marked with a distinctive soccer ball icon on the platform.
Tickets will be released in five waves tied to tournament stages. The schedule for these releases is as follows:
- Group Stage and Round of 32 bookings opened June 10 in cities including Los Angeles, Boston, New York/New Jersey, Seattle, and Vancouver.
- Round of 16 bookings open June 18.
- Quarterfinal bookings open July 1.
- Semifinals bookings open July 9.
- The Final bookings open on July 16.
“Airbnb hosts don’t just offer you a place to stay – they provide a more authentic way to experience a destination,” said Dave Stephenson, Chief Business Officer of Airbnb. In Atlanta alone, Airbnb guests are projected to generate a $70 million economic impact for the city, with fans from Argentina, the UK, and Mexico ranking among the top expected visitor groups.
This campaign marks one of Airbnb’s largest event-based initiatives, combining hospitality with live sports access for soccer fans traveling across North America.
