Air Care Alliance Announces New Executive Director and Board Chairman
The Air Care Alliance, a nonprofit organization representing a nationwide network of volunteer pilot groups, announced the appointment of Barbara Sica as Executive Director and JJ Suarez as Chairman of the Board of Directors on May 5, 2026.
With over 35 years of executive leadership experience, Barbara Sica brings a wealth of knowledge in business management and marketing. Her impressive tenure includes 16 years in the nonprofit public benefit flying sector. Sica’s background spans strategic communications, organizational leadership, and mission-driven program development. Before her nonprofit work, Sica served as Vice President of Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Investor Relations for a publicly traded international technology management firm.
JJ Suarez, the newly appointed Chairman, previously served on the Air Care Alliance Board of Directors for three years. Mark Hanson, President of Air Care Alliance, praised the team saying, “The Air Care Alliance team is composed of dedicated leaders committed to fostering and advancing charitable aviation. Both JJ and Barbara bring a wealth of experience and a shared enthusiasm for public benefit flying.“
In her new role, Sica will work closely with the Board of Directors, member organizations, and partners to strengthen the organization’s impact. Her focus will be on ensuring continuity across programs supporting volunteer pilots who provide humanitarian flights nationwide.
