Shark 600: A Pioneer in Turbulence-Cancelling Certification
The Austrian aviation authorities have recently certified a groundbreaking turbulence cancellation system for the Shark 600 aircraft, marking a historic first in aviation technology. This system significantly reduces the impact of turbulence by 80%, providing passengers with a smoother flying experience equivalent to an aircraft five times heavier.
Shark.Aero received Austrian certification for Turbulence Solutions’ Turbulence Cancelling System (TCS) in April 2026. This followed a rigorous seven-year development cycle spearheaded by András Gálffy, the founder of Turbulence Solutions. The innovative flight-control approach actively stabilizes the aircraft during encounters with turbulent air.
While the Shark 600 already boasts a high wing loading of 12.94 pounds per square foot, the addition of TCS provides the stability of an aircraft with an effective wing loading of 61.45 pounds per square foot. Company officials anticipate that the system will be highly beneficial for pilots operating in mountainous regions where turbulence is more prevalent.
The technology is now available as an option for all new Shark aircraft, including the Shark 600 T (Turbo Shark). The Shark 600 is the first aircraft in history to carry this certified system, positioning it as a technology demonstrator for active stabilization in light aircraft.
