LUMINAIR Announces Major Fleet Expansion with Nine Citation Latitude Jets Order at AERO Show

German private jet operator LUMINAIR has made a significant move by placing an order for nine Cessna Citation Latitude aircraft from Textron Aviation. This announcement was made at the AERO Friedrichshafen on April 22, 2026, marking a significant fleet expansion to cater to the increasing European demand.

Established in 2024, the Hamburg-based company chose the midsize Citation Latitude for its unique blend of range, operational efficiency, and cabin comfort. The aircraft boasts a stand-up, flat-floor cabin that can accommodate up to nine passengers. This makes it versatile for various missions, including corporate and private travel, air ambulance services, and specialized roles such as intelligence, surveillance, and aerial survey operations.

Deliveries are expected to commence in late 2026, with the remaining eight aircraft anticipated throughout 2027. This will increase LUMINAIR’s total fleet to approximately 22-23 aircraft. The Citation Latitude will serve as a complement to the operator’s existing fleet of Cessna Citation XLS and Dassault Falcon jets, effectively bridging the gap between the two aircraft types.

Alexander Stevens, Chief Operating Officer and Founder of LUMINAIR, expressed that the introduction of the Citation Latitude marks a crucial milestone in the company’s fleet strategy. It allows them to scale purposefully while upholding their commitment to safety and excellence. The Citation Latitude’s 2,700 nautical mile range enables non-stop routes such as Edinburgh to Larnaca, Riga to Tenerife, and Helsinki to San Sebastián. This supports LUMINAIR’s growth across Europe, where more than 850 Cessna Citation business jets are currently in operation.
