Cirrus Aircraft’s TRAC10 Trainer Surpasses 100 Orders
Cirrus Aircraft is making a significant impact in the pilot training industry with its newly launched TRAC10. This purpose-built flight training aircraft, designed from scratch, has already received over 100 orders from 13 professional flight schools worldwide. This response indicates a robust industry demand for a contemporary training platform.
The three-seater TRAC10, retailing at $499,900, is equipped with a turbocharged Rotax 916 iSc FADEC engine. It generates 160 horsepower and consumes as little as 5.9 gallons per hour at 65% cruise power. The aircraft boasts a comprehensive Garmin flight deck, the iconic Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS), Garmin Electronic Stability & Protection (ESP), a Blue Level Button (LVL), and even airline-style stick shakers. This makes it one of the most safety-equipped trainers ever introduced to the market.
Unlike previous TRAC models that modified existing SR-series airframes, the TRAC10 is the first aircraft Cirrus has designed specifically for pilot training missions. It will be manufactured at the Cirrus headquarters in Duluth, Minnesota. U.S. deliveries are set to begin in 2027, with international deliveries following in 2028.
“Drawing on more than 30 years of designing, building, and supporting aircraft worldwide, the TRAC10 is our most deliberate answer yet to what professional flight schools need to succeed,” stated Cirrus CEO Zean Nielsen.
