Tiny Health Secures $33M to Transform Home-Based Microbiome Testing

Austin, Texas-based Tiny Health, a pioneer in microbiome intelligence, has successfully raised a $33 million Series B funding round. This latest round brings the total funding to a significant $46 million. The funds will be used to broaden the reach of its innovative at-home gut and vaginal microbiome testing services. The funding round was spearheaded by B Capital, with contributions from Spero Ventures, Black Opal Ventures, Pave Health Ventures, Alumni Ventures, Gaingels, among others.

The company offers at-home tests, each priced at around $249. These tests offer personalized health insights into a range of issues including gastrointestinal problems, inflammation, eczema, allergies, and reproductive health. The platform currently serves nearly 200,000 patients and over 6,000 healthcare practitioners. The company’s B2B division, Powered by Tiny, witnessed a fourfold growth last year. The overall revenue has more than doubled each year, as per the company’s founder and CEO, Cheryl Sew Hoy.

The fresh capital will be channeled towards advancing clinical research, expanding provider education, scaling its AI health advisor—TinyAI, and funding a newly announced $5 million Microbiome Research Program. The program is designed to support researchers and clinicians. Tiny Health is broadening its focus from babies and families to include healthy aging, menopause, GLP-1 support, and cancer care. Research has linked gut microbiome imbalances to over 100 diseases, making this one of the most promising areas in preventative health and beauty-from-within science.
