MT-Propeller’s 4-Blade AVIA Propeller Secures EASA STC for Air Tractor Fleet

European propeller specialist, MT-Propeller, has achieved a significant regulatory milestone. The company has received an EASA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for its 4-blade AVIA AV-804 propeller. This certification applies to a range of Air Tractor AT-series agricultural aircraft, including the AT-402, AT-502, AT-502A, AT-502B, and AT-503A models. The STC also covers aircraft powered by various Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A engines, such as the PT6A-15AG, -27, -34, -34AG, -34B, -36, and -140AG variants.

MT-Propeller states that the new 4-bladed AVIA propeller delivers equal or superior performance when compared to the existing 4-blade propeller STC. Notable enhancements include a static thrust increase of up to 430 lbs for PT6A-34AG-powered models and up to 200 lbs for PT6A-140AG models. Furthermore, operators can enjoy an RPM reduction from 2,200 to 2,080, resulting in lower noise levels and enhanced efficiency during intensive agricultural flight operations.

This certification holds particular significance for the agricultural aviation community. Air Tractor aircraft are indispensable tools used in crop spraying and firefighting operations globally. FAA STC approval is currently underway, indicating that U.S. operators will soon be able to benefit from the upgraded propeller as well.

With its headquarters in Germany, MT-Propeller now boasts over 230 supplemental type certificates worldwide. This achievement highlights its status as a leading innovator in propeller technology for general and agricultural aviation.
