Nvidia’s $1.5 Billion Investment: The Largest Server Farm in Israel
Nvidia, the world’s leading semiconductor company, is poised to construct the biggest server farm in the history of Israel. The total investment is projected to reach a staggering $1.5 billion, as reported by the Israeli financial news outlet, Calcalist.
The tech giant is currently in the final stages of negotiations to lease a data center in the Mevo Carmel industrial zone near Yokneam. This center, operated by the real estate firm Mega Or DC, is still under construction. Once completed, the facility will cover an area of 30,000 square meters and consume approximately 64 megawatts of electricity. This makes it one of the most energy-intensive data centers in the country, consuming more than double the power of Nvidia’s existing Israel-1 supercomputing facility in the vicinity.
The new site will be home to Nvidia’s state-of-the-art Blackwell processors and a next-generation supercomputer. The supercomputer will be used for internal GPU architecture testing and validation. Upon completion, the site is set to become Nvidia’s largest laboratory and supercomputing center outside the United States. It will also rank among the largest data centers in the entire Middle East.
With its existing Kiryat Tivon campus, Nvidia’s expanded presence in Israel is set to transform the northern part of the country into a global AI technology hub. This will support thousands of engineers and researchers. The investment further solidifies Israel’s position as Nvidia’s second-largest R&D hub outside the U.S., where the company already employs more than 5,000 workers.
