Nvidia Set to Establish $1.5B Server Farm in Israel — The Largest Outside the U.S.
Nvidia, currently the world’s highest-valued publicly traded company with a market capitalization of roughly $4.3 trillion, is on the verge of finalizing plans to construct the most extensive server farm in the history of Israel. The project is estimated to cost around $1.5 billion, as reported by Israeli tech news outlet, Calcalist.
The AI chip behemoth is in the final stages of negotiations to lease a data center presently under construction in the Mevo Carmel industrial zone near Yokneam, located in northern Israel. The new facility is projected to cover approximately 30,000 square meters and utilize around 64 megawatts of electricity. This high energy consumption will make it one of the most power-intensive data centers in the Middle East. The center will host Nvidia’s next-generation Blackwell processors and a potent new supercomputer, set to outperform the capabilities of Israel-1 — Nvidia’s current leading Israeli system, which is ranked among the world’s top supercomputers.
Upon completion, the Mevo Carmel site is anticipated to become Nvidia’s largest laboratory and supercomputing center outside the United States. This investment further solidifies Israel’s position as Nvidia’s second-largest global R&D hub, with over 5,000 employees already stationed in the country. CEO Jensen Huang has publicly referred to Israel as Nvidia’s “second home,” indicating a long-term strategic commitment to the region amidst the escalating global AI infrastructure race.
