Singapore Airlines: The Unrivalled Champion of Global Aviation in 2026
LONDON, September 20, 2026 — The prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards, often dubbed as the Oscars of the aviation industry, has once again crowned Singapore Airlines as the World’s Best Airline for 2026.
The accolade was conferred on September 18, 2026, during a grand ceremony at the iconic Langham Hotel in London. The event saw the presence of numerous airline chairmen, CEOs, and presidents, all gathered to receive their respective honours. This marks the sixth occasion Singapore Airlines has clinched this coveted title, wresting it back from Qatar Airways, the previous year’s winner.
The rankings were derived from an extensive global customer satisfaction survey, which encompassed the feedback of over 24.8 million passengers from more than 100 nationalities and 300 airlines. The survey was conducted by Skytrax between September 2025 and August 2026. Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines, hailed the award as a “testament to the dedication and professionalism” of the airline’s staff.
Qatar Airways slipped to the second spot, with Cathay Pacific Airways securing the third position. All Nippon Airways, Turkish Airlines, and Emirates completed the top six. Interestingly, no US carriers made it to the top six, with Air Canada being the only North American representative. Other category winners included Air France for World’s Best First Class Airline and STARLUX Airlines for World’s Cleanest Airline. Qatar Airways held onto its title of World’s Best Business Class Airline for an unprecedented 13th time.
