Carnival Tropicale: Book Your Adventure on the Texas-Bound Ship Debuting in 2028
Exciting news for cruise enthusiasts! Carnival Cruise Line has officially started accepting bookings for the Carnival Tropicale. This announcement, made on September 10, 2026, introduces the fifth and final ship in the renowned Excel class. The grand reveal took place at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, where the ship’s construction is currently in progress.
The LNG-powered Carnival Tropicale is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage on April 15, 2028. The ship will be based in Galveston, Texas, and will proudly display the Star of Texas on her bow as a tribute to her home state. The Carnival Tropicale will offer a variety of four-, five-, six-, and eight-day cruises. These will include trips to Carnival’s exclusive Paradise Collection destinations such as Celebration Key, Half Moon Cay, Isla Tropicale, and Puerta Maya, as well as popular Caribbean ports like Nassau and Progreso.
The Carnival Tropicale boasts several standout features. These include Sunsation Point, a multi-level family fun zone, and Carnival WaterWorks Ultra, which features six thrilling waterslides. Dining options onboard include Uku Lei Lei (offering Hawaiian-inspired cuisine with Asian influences), Fetaccine (serving Greek-Italian fusion dishes), and Emeril’s Coastal Seafood, a restaurant developed in collaboration with renowned Chef Emeril Lagasse. The ship will also offer entertainment inspired by the golden era of show business, with more details to be announced in the coming months.
