Anticipated $965B Anthropic IPO Prospectus Due by August End

AI industry leader, Anthropic, renowned for creating the Claude family of AI models, is gearing up to publicly release its IPO prospectus possibly by the end of August 2026. This move sets the stage for what could be one of the most eagerly awaited and potentially largest stock market debuts in history.

The company confidentially submitted a draft Form S-1 registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on June 1, 2026. This followed a successful $65 billion Series H funding round that valued Anthropic at an astounding $965 billion post-money. The offering is being spearheaded by Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Morgan Stanley, with bankers predicting the IPO could generate more than $60 billion, aiming for an October 2026 Nasdaq listing.

However, a CNBC report citing insiders suggests that Anthropic’s public filing is likely to highlight AI backlash as a key risk factor. It points out that an increasing number of Americans are against new data center construction — a direct threat to AI capacity expansion. A Gallup survey found that seven in ten Americans oppose AI data center construction in their area.

Anthropic’s revenue growth has been remarkable: from $1 billion annualized at the end of 2024 to over $47 billion by mid-2026. The company holds a 31.4% global LLM revenue share and dominates 54% of the enterprise coding AI market, ahead of competitor OpenAI. However, profitability is not anticipated until 2028.
