Nvidia Discloses Stakes Worth $51B: $21B in SpaceX and $30B in Intel
Nvidia, the AI chipmaking titan, sent shockwaves through Wall Street this week. A recent SEC 13F filing revealed that the company holds a $21 billion stake in SpaceX and a $30 billion stake in Intel. These investments represent nearly 80% of Nvidia’s publicly disclosed equity portfolio, totaling over $51 billion. This disclosure marks the first time Nvidia has publicly revealed the exact scale of its SpaceX position.
The stake in SpaceX, approximately 122.8 million shares valued as of June 30, 2026, originated from Nvidia’s $10 billion investment in Elon Musk’s xAI startup. This startup was subsequently folded into SpaceX ahead of its record-breaking Nasdaq IPO in June, which raised $85.7 billion at an initial price of $135 per share.
On the other hand, Nvidia’s Intel holding was acquired for a mere $5 billion in December 2025 as part of a strategic AI infrastructure partnership. By the end of the quarter, it had grown to approximately $30 billion—an unrealized gain of roughly $25 billion in under seven months.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk confirmed that SpaceX will build its AI data centers exclusively on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chips. This highlights the deeply intertwined nature of these investments. However, analysts have flagged potential circular investment risks for Nvidia shareholders.
