Zenith Aircraft Marks 35th Anniversary with Homecoming Fly-In Event

Zenith Aircraft Company is excited to announce its 35th annual Homecoming Open Hangar Days & Fly-In, taking place on September 18–19, 2026. The event will be held at the company’s kit aircraft factory at Mexico Memorial Airport (KMYJ) in Mexico, Missouri, and the anticipation among the homebuilding community is palpable.

The cherished yearly gathering unites Zenith kit builders and pilots from all over the United States. Many attendees fly their own completed Zenith aircraft — assembled from parts produced entirely at the Missouri factory — directly to the homecoming celebration. This year’s landmark 35th edition promises a jam-packed two-day agenda featuring:

  • Educational seminars
  • Factory tours
  • Flying and STOL demonstrations
  • Hands-on building workshops
  • A signature Zenith banquet dinner

Special industry guests will include EAA’s Charlie Becker, as well as representatives from over a dozen vendors specializing in avionics, engines, insurance, and more. Additionally, a separate hands-on workshop class is planned for August 13–14 at the factory for those eager to get a jump on aircraft building before the main event.

The Homecoming event is proudly presented by the Chris Heintz Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to perpetuating the legacy of aeronautical engineer Chris Heintz (1938–2021). His groundbreaking light aircraft designs have been a source of inspiration for builders around the globe for many years. Complimentary camping is available at the Mexico airport for attendees.
