AeroAngel Sets Up Permanent Base at Colorado’s Centennial Airport
A significant milestone in the realm of general aviation charity work has been achieved. AeroAngel, a national nonprofit that organizes free private jet flights for critically ill children, has officially set up its permanent headquarters at Centennial Airport (KAPA) in Englewood, Colorado. This is the very airport where the organization embarked on its first mission back in 2010.
The charity has now moved into the One InterPort office building at Centennial Airport. This facility is owned by Modern Aviation, a company that has been supporting AeroAngel’s flight operations through its 19 FBOs across the United States for several years. Mark Pestal, a former assistant U.S. attorney and commercial pilot, founded AeroAngel. Since its inception, the organization has accomplished more than 500 missions and coordinated an impressive $2.7 million in donated flights in just the past year alone.
This new headquarters signifies a major leap forward for the organization. It will help expand its fundraising efforts and bring it closer to its goal of acquiring a dedicated medical transport aircraft. AeroAngel’s annual Light Up the Sky fundraising event is also being planned, providing an opportunity for the aviation community to support this noble cause.
