P&G Acquires Wellness Powerhouse Thorne in a $3.8 Billion Deal

In a landmark move for the health and beauty industry in 2026, Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) has announced its acquisition of the science-backed supplement manufacturer, Thorne. This monumental deal, valued at a staggering $3.8 billion, was made public on August 4, 2026, marking P&G’s significant foray into the thriving premium wellness and personalized health market.

Established in 1984, Thorne has earned a solid reputation for its clinically validated nutritional supplements. Its product range includes magnesium, omega-3, and whey protein, and is trusted by over 7 million consumers. Additionally, tens of thousands of healthcare professionals and more than 100 professional sports teams, including multiple U.S. National Teams, rely on Thorne’s products. These products undergo four rounds of stringent testing at Thorne’s own South Carolina facility, which is audited by NSF and Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

“The growing consumer interest in self-care, prevention, wellness, and personalized health is undeniable,” stated Paul Gama, CEO of P&G Health Care. Thorne will be incorporated into P&G’s existing health portfolio, which already boasts of brands like Metamucil, Align Probiotic, New Chapter vitamins, Oral-B, and Vicks. The transaction is slated to close in Q4 2026, subject to regulatory approval. P&G is acquiring Thorne from the LVMH-backed private equity firm, L Catterton.
