Allegiant Air Soars into Premium Travel with First Class and Complimentary Drinks
Budget airline Allegiant Air is boldly venturing into the premium travel sector. They have announced the launch of a brand-new first-class cabin, aptly named “Allegiant First”. This exciting new feature is set to debut on select aircraft in spring 2027.
The new cabin will be furnished with eight seats, arranged in a comfortable 2-by-2 configuration at the front of the plane. Passengers will enjoy a 37-inch seat pitch, a 5-inch recline, calf rests, and adjustable headrests. Those who book Allegiant First will also benefit from priority check-in and boarding. A bundled baggage allowance is included, allowing one personal item, one carry-on, and one checked bag up to 70 pounds.
However, passengers won’t have to wait until 2027 for an upgrade. As of August 1, 2026, Allegiant has already introduced complimentary beverage service on all flights. This includes soft drinks, juice, and water. This is a significant shift for a carrier that was previously known for charging for nearly everything onboard.
This announcement follows Allegiant’s acquisition of Sun Country Airlines. Chief Commercial Officer Drew Wells stated that this move is designed to expand premium offerings for leisure travelers as the two airlines integrate. Tickets for the new first-class seats are expected to go on sale as early as mid-August 2026.
