Allegiant Air Introduces Complimentary Inflight Drinks and New Premium Cabin
Budget airline Allegiant Air (NASDAQ: ALGT) has embarked on a significant upgrade to enhance passenger experience. Starting from August 1, 2026, the airline will offer complimentary inflight beverage service on all its flights. Passengers can now enjoy free sodas, juices, and water, marking a notable shift from the airline’s previous policy of charging for nearly every onboard item.
On July 29, 2026, Allegiant also revealed Allegiant First—a new premium cabin set to launch on select aircraft in spring 2027. This cabin will feature eight seats with a 37-inch pitch, calf rests, and priority boarding. Tickets for the new cabin are expected to be available for purchase as early as mid-August 2026, with the inaugural flights taking off from Ft. Myers/Punta Gorda (PGD).
Moreover, holders of the Allways Rewards Visa® card will receive an additional complimentary premium beverage per flight. These include specialty coffees, protein shakes, sports drinks, or an alcoholic beverage with a mixer (valued up to $16). Drew Wells, the Chief Commercial Officer, described these changes as part of a broader strategy following Allegiant’s merger with Sun Country Airlines. The goal is to offer passengers “more comfort, more personalization, and more flexibility.”
